Civil case files containing all the papers pertaining to each case that came before the court. Though most cases involve suits, a few concern incorporation of Dane County villages between 1883 and 1920 and these include population censuses; they are listed in the finding aid. The processed portion of this series is summarized above and dates 1839-1928; there are additional accessions dating to 1976 which are described below.
